We Have Attempted Several Rounds To Trap This Semi..

We have attempted several rounds to trap this semi-feral stray female cat in Taman Mutiara Puchong with a cat trap, but being a smart and wary cat, there was no way she would go inside the tiny space. She always keeps a safe distance from humans and does not allow to be touched even by her regular feeders. Despite at such a young age, she already had several litters of kittens and the cycle had to stop.

After the unsuccessful attempts earlier, we revised our strategy by using a big spacious cage to trap her instead. We informed the cat’s regular feeder to start putting food inside the big cage everyday and once she goes in, we could trap her.

When the feeder started placing her food inside the cage, the cat refused to step inside initially. We told the feeder to stand firm and continue to place her food inside the cage until she gives in one day. The cat waited and still refused to go inside the cage even after several days.

The feeder continued to presevere and waited. Finally one fine day, when the cat was desperately hungry, she walked right into the cage without hesitation to reach for the food. Over the next few days, the feeder continued to place her food inside the cage until the cat got used to the routine.

When the feeder was ready to trap the cat, a string was then tied to the cage door. This time, when the cat went inside the cage and started eating, the feeder pulled the string to shut the door. Finally, the cat was successfully trapped!

Thank you to the kind and responsible feeder for your patience, great concerted efforts and preseverance in successfully trapping another stray cat at the taman.

The cat has been sent to our panel vet in Puchong and she has been spayed. Once released back to the streets, the cat’s life also become more peaceful moving forward.

This is the 30th cat we have trapped and neutered with the assistance and co-operation of the residents at Taman Mutiara Puchong. Thanks to the resident committee in supporting the neutering programme for the taman and adopting this humane method in effectively managing strays.

Mr Sim, we are truly grateful to you in sponsoring the cat’s neutering cost. Thank you.
