Dyk That We Have Fewer Than 150 Malayan Tigers Lef..

#DYK that we have fewer than 150 Malayan tigers left in the wild due to the threats of poaching and habitat loss?

Since 2016, WWF-Malaysia in partnership with Maybank have enhanced Malayan tiger conservation in the Belum-Temengor Forest Complex, a priority tiger habitat, by increasing the number of anti-poaching patrols, stepping up monitoring and engaging local communities.

The partnership played a crucial role in Royal Belum State Park registering for Conservation Assured Tiger Standards, which will help assure the effective, long-term protection of Malayan tigers.

The partnership was also key in establishing Project Stampede in 2018:

● More than 70 Orang Asli anti-poaching personnel

● Patrolling 11,000 km annually

● Reducing active snares that injure and kill wildlife by 94%
