Meet The Survivors: Frosty ❄️

Meet the Survivors: Frosty ❄️

You might recognise Frosty. The heartwrenching image of him desperately trying to escape a metal cage has featured on the front page of our website for many years – a stark reminder of the horror of the dog meat trade and why it’s so important we end it everywhere.

Frosty had been forced into the cage by a dog smuggler in 2014. Snatched from the streets of Thailand, he was thrown onto a truck destined for a Vietnamese slaughterhouse.

With the weight of your support behind us, we were able to have the truck intercepted before it crossed the border, and Frosty and over 1,000 other dogs were saved from the most brutal end.

Broken bones, heat exhaustion and suffocation were commonplace on these trucks, and Frosty and his friends were lucky to make it out alive.

But Frosty’s fortune didn’t end there. After a period of recovery at the Soi Dog shelter, he was adopted to the Netherlands where he’s lived safely and happily ever since. Seeing him chase toys and sleep peacefully on his bed makes us wonder how anyone could see him as anything but a beloved companion.

The dog and cat meat trade has been consigned to Thailand’s history books now, and we are fighting to achieving the same in other countries. Are you with us? Learn more here: https://links.soidog.org/frosty-the-survivor
