Amos Was One Of Many Dogs Rounded Up In Northeaste..

Amos was one of many dogs rounded up in northeastern Thailand in response to an exaggerated rabies scare back in 2019. When Soi Dog was alerted to the situation, we transferred them from the cramped government facility they were being held in to the safety of our shelter in Phuket.
Just over a year and a half later, Amos was lucky enough to be adopted to Canada. His adopter, Susan, told us that she’d been looking to adopt a rescued dog who had a loving, cuddly and gentle personality but was having a hard time getting adopted.🏠💕
Before Amos had even arrived, Susan had given him the nickname ‘Famous Amos’ because she’d told everyone that she could about him and his story! Here’s a lovely update from her:
“I am thrilled that Amos is mine. He’s sweet and kind and just seems to take everything in calmly. He was as cool as a cucumber when he arrived… He’s such a trooper!
Amos is getting to know the local dogs and cats AND their owners who all seem to appreciate him! He’s still a little nervous (alert) on walks, so I’m taking it slowly with him. He really likes the quiet of my backyard and as today is supposed to be warm (20C) he will be spending most of it outside. In June, it was 0C and snowing and Amos was okay with that! He’s such a beautiful dog and he’s okay with everything.
I’ve attached another photo of Amos (and my mother) on a picnic. The Great Atlantic is behind me. Amos didn’t mind dabbling his toes in the water but drew the line at getting in. He preferred the treats my mother was giving him!
Thank you for finding the most perfect dog in the world for me! And thank you for all your efforts getting him here.❤”
