Some wonderful updates to share 🥰🐾. After her terrible accident and a long time under our care, Mirko has finally taken her first steps and we couldn’t be happier for her. Since her front legs were nearly severed with a brush cutter, Mirko has made a slow but brilliant recovery. As you probably remember, she first arrived at our shelter at the beginning of September 2021 and her condition was dire. Thanks to animal lovers like you, we were able to give Mirko the urgent medical treatment she needed to survive and save part of her shattered legs 💪🐾. Last December, Mirko received a very special visit from Bengt Soderberg, a specialist in human prosthetics who had previously helped Gill Dalley and Cola, another one of our animal heroes. Bengt’s work was a great success and Mirko has just received her very first prosthetic legs. She still has a long way to go to make a full recovery and learn how to walk again, but with your support, she has nothing to fear. Thank you for all you have done for this strong girl 🧡. Established in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand, Soi Dog is Southeast Asia's largest organisation helping stray animals. The Gill Dalley sanctuary in Phuket is home to over 1,600 animals.
