What is payment for ecosystem services (PES)? 🤔 Often, we hear this term but few really understand it. On 18 January, WWF-Malaysia in collaboration with the Ministry of Urban Development and Natural Resources held a workshop in Kuching to generate awareness and understanding on what PES is. It also covered topics on criteria and requirements for effective PES; how PES can be used to support good watershed management; and solutions for tradeoffs in watershed protected areas.

About 30 people from the government and private sectors attended, who provided good feedback on the potentials of PES and gaps that need to be addressed. 🙌
