Newborn baby 🦧 orangutans weigh about 1.5 kg (3.3 lb.). They’re so, so small, the size of a ✋🏼 palm. Their legs and arms are very thin at birth. Newborn orangutans cannot even raise their heads.

They completely rely on their mothers. Once infants are born, mother orangutans clean them and begin nursing.
