So the dogs infected with distemper at our place were related and were vaccinated at the same place. That has left us wondering about so many things including vaccines. Do the vaccines manufactured by different companies contain the same components and pathways or they do they differ? This thought occured to us because of the stark difference between the Covid-19 vaccines. Anyways, we will find out more on that. We also wonder if some dogs have vulnerability to certain viruses in spite of being vaccinated. Dr Lian then told us about the antibody titer test. She also performed a complimentary test on our doggo Chris who is at her place. The test revealed:

1. For Parvo – his reading was 1:240 – ideally high titer should be 1:160 – Chris is 150% higher than the ideal high titer – meaning he has strong immunity and it is very unlikely he will get parvo

2. For Distemper – his reading was 1:32 (medium titer) – ideally high titer should be 1:64 – so he is very likely to get distemper if he is exposed to it.

3. For Adenovirus – his reading was 1:1024 – ideally high titer should be 1:64 – Chris is 1600% higher than the ideal high titer – extremely excellent immune status against the virus.

So we will now find out what we should in cases such as Chris – he may get it if exposed, so how do we distemper proof him? Give him a 4th dose?
