I guess this is the wonderful thing about animals. They respond to needs. They don’t think as much as we do. They don’t need to reason, ie. Is this too troublesome for me? Will this be very inconvenient? What’s in it for me? What will people think of me if I do it? What will people think of me if I don’t do it?

They just act accordingly. Call it following their instinct or following their heart. Call it whatever we want, but the job gets done.

That’s the thing I like about animals which we humans have lost – acting upon instinct and not thinking too much about inconvenience and burden and what-not.

Do what is necessary to save a life. Just do.

I think if we humans do not have such complicated brains, complicated relationships and complicated lives, we will all go back to basics and act upon instinct and heart. I think we would then live in a much better (and simpler) world!
