More Of Dr Lai Chongs Canine Caviar Gifts

This morning, I brought 4 packs of Dr Lai Chong’s Canine Caviar puppyfood to PAWS.

The manager of PAWS conveys his thanks to Dr Lai.

There are always surrendered puppies at PAWS each time I visit. It is sometimes so sad to listen to the surrender stories, how some people would surrender their longtime pets (who have served them well but are now old and sickly) or to hear of puppies dumped at the gate and the “dumper” scooting off without paying the surrender fee.

When I hear such stories, I am sure I would not have the strength nor tenacity to manage a shelter, not only in managing the animals but more, the humans who dump them. And though I used to be very steadfast in my beliefs and principles of no-kill, I now empathise and understand why shelters sometimes have to do what they do. Their policies seem heartless at times, but that’s the best they can do, under the circumstances. Of course with our small numbers, we can practise no-kill, but we cannot expect shelters to do the same since their numbers are large and they do not have the manpower to administer palliative care to dying animals.

I asked how many puppies Cherish Life Home has and was told they presently have 11 puppies.
Lily came to collect the 4 bags of Canine Caviar puppyfood on behalf of Mdm Winnie Lau.
