It was a traumatising morning for us as we lost a kitten to a python. Our volunteer walked in to the cat area this morning and found the cats edgy and staring at the corner of the kennel. She then saw a full bellied Reticulated python staring at her. It probably came around to hunt for food at night and unfortunately took a very curious 5 months old kitten of ours. It couldn’t escape through the fence after that. We then called the fire services to take it away. The python got angry when it was disturbed so it regurgitated the poor little kitty. At least we got our kitty back and buried it. RIP Clumsy. You were a hero. You saved your other feline friends.

The Langkawi Animal Shelter and Sanctuary Foundation is set-up to receive, rehabilitate and care for neglected, abused and needy animals. The organization also runs the Langkawi Island Animal Clinic - a charity project aimed at the sterilization of the stray cat & dog population. Both are non profit ventures, staffed partly by volunteers and aimed at improving the lives of unwanted animals.
