International Day of Forests Message from Sophia Lim, WWF-Malaysia Executive Director/CEO:

Happy International Day of Forests! As we countdown to #EarthHour on 27 March at 8:30pm, we are urging everyone to pledge your support of saving nature and forests at wwf.org.my/earthhour The future of people and nature depends on thriving forests. Forest loss threatens nature and human health and exacerbates the climate crisis. We all need healthy forest ecosystems for clean air, fresh water, climate change mitigation, soil stability and recreation. Pledge to protect nature, as it is vital for our survival, comfort and prosperity.

Beyond Earth Hour, in the lead up to the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP26, we are honoured to be partnering with UK in Malaysia – British High Commission Kuala Lumpur on the #TogetherForOurPlanet campaign. As the world recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, we face an important choice – whether to build back greener or to continue ignoring the climate crisis. The time to act is now. Let’s galvanise global effort in tackling climate change and reducing carbon emissions.
