Did you know that pangolin scales are made of keratin, which is the exact same protein that makes up our fingernails? Yet, pangolins are widely hunted for their scales that are used in traditional medicine and folk remedies to treat a range of ailments.

In Malaysia, the Sunda pangolin is critically endangered, with thousands being lost to illegal wildlife trade and trafficked across borders to many parts of Asia.

Today, on World Pangolin Day, let’s remember the little mighty pangolin and do our bit in the fight against illegal wildlife trade.
