Dear All,. We Receive Many Pms From Rescuers Askin..

Dear all,

We receive many PMs from rescuers asking us to post for funds for their rescues. However, they give us their personal account number and get offended when we ask them for the clinic account numbers. Out of the countless requests we get, only a couple of rescuers have given us the clinic number for direct transfers. Having been rescuing for some 12 years now, we are aware that animal rescue can be used as a tool to make money. We are against that and eventhough we are a registered non-profit, we ask you to donate directly to the veterinary clinics, kibble supplier, rice supplier and chicken supplier. Their details are also provided for donors to double check the validity of our requests. The veterinary clinics are also disclosed so that donors can go and see for themselves the dogs that they are donating to.We only request donations directly into our account when we are short to pay rental utilities and staff allowances and we tell you what it is for. We also stop asking and close donations when the amount is sufficnet for the vet bills. We do not seek funds for some rescues when there is a balance at the clinic from the previous case. That is how we operate. We do not want to exploit animal rescue for our own benefit and that is also why every MDDB member hold fulltime jobs elsewhere whilst running the sanctuary and rescuing. We want to upkeep transparency and accountability and so we seek your cooperation as well in this matter. So, please do not get angry or offended when we tell you that we need the clinic’s account details and not your personal account. If the clinic does not want to give you their account number, we will reccomend you a clinic which will. Thank you for understanding.

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better is a canine welfare programme initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII).

MDDB's main activities revolve around rescuing dogs from the local council pounds as well as off the streets. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption.
