As we celebrate World Rainforest Day 🌳Let’s not forget our Malaysia forests, which are some of the oldest and most biologically diverse forests in the world!

The thick forest of Ulu Muda comprises vital ecosystems for the people of three northern Peninsular Malaysian states. Many people including Malaysians are unaware that this forest also serves as the main water source for Kedah, Perlis and Penang.

Unfortunately, pressure from unsustainable logging threatens Ulu Muda’s ecological integrity and its capacity to continue providing valuable and essential ecosystem services in the long run.
