“My Dog Named Micco”
a poem by Martin Yim
It has been difficult for me
I ponder a lot when I sip my tea
But at least during this MCO
I have Micco
Her gaze eases my troubles away
I look forward to being with her all night and day
Her response and support ever so unwavering
Even though she’s short her confidence is ever towering
She’s afraid of people and everything
I will help her to overcome fear and be ready to face even thunder and lightning
She completes me, I hope I am to her too
When she asks for another rub, I will give her two.
I will love her ever more, ever more.
*****
We received this beautiful poem from Martin, who adopted Micco (who has lived in the shelter for years since she was rescued as a puppy) earlier this year at our adoption drive in Jaya One. We are so touched by this poem, our heart is bursting with a warm fuzzy feeling, and our eyes are glistening with tears of joy! Hope it touches your heart too, and inspire you to the best you can be for your 🐕 dog. 💖🐾
