DOGS ON DEATHROW: MPSP DOG POUND

25.01.14 – My 8th Trip to MPSP Dog

The pound is currently overloaded with puppies and dogs. I was in shocked looking at the many of them that I totally lost count of the numbers. I did my best trying to get all their photos, but sadly I could just get as many as i can.

It’s a real pitiful sight seeing them cramped up in cages.

I know that I have been repeating the same message over and over again, but I have no choice eventhough you may think of me as a nuisance. Please encourage more people to come forward to give these pound dogs a second chance. They, too deserve a fair chance to be adopted.

Adopt, and help save a life!

**Note: New photos uploaded**

I am a coward, I admit.

Though I am involved in animal rescues, but never will I dare myself to enter a dog pound. I know that if I ever did, I will be mentally and emotionally shattered.

Today, I made a great breakthrough and overcome my fear. For the last few days, I have heard of so many dogs and puppies captured at the pound. A total of 41 adult dogs & 11 puppies! And since the pound is already at its max capacity, its just a matter of time before each and every one of these furkids will be put to sleep.

I had sleepless nights, thinking to myself what can I do to save, if not ALL but at least a few of them. My coward character ain’t going to help them. If only I have the guts to step in, take some nice photos of them…perhaps…just perhaps…they might have a chance to get adopted.

Time is running out for them….

I braved myself and went to the pound today and captured as many photos of the furkids as I can. Most of these dogs are very friendly and wag their tails non-stop at the sight of people walking near. They DO deserve to be people’s pet. The only thing that they need is A CHANCE.

As I drove myself back, I cried most of the way. I could not forget how they look at me, some with smiley faces…and some even came over to lick my hand, wagging their bushy tails…I am truly heartbroken, not knowing how much time they still have. I felt so helpless!

I sincerely appeal that more people can help me SHARE out this album so that some of these furkids may get a chance to be adopted.

These dogs are now at MPSP Building, Jalan Bertek, 14000 Bukit Mertajam. If you can help to save them by bringing a dog home, you may go over at anytime from Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm. Please do avoid lunch hours (just in case) and Saturday they operate from 8.00am to 12.00pm.

1 ADOPTION = 1 LIFE SAVED

PLEASE GIVE THESE POUND DOGS A SECOND CHANCE.

NOTE: For female dogs, spaying will be sponsored.

Freddie has been going to MPSP Dog Pound a few times this week to help with the cleaning and feeding of the pound dogs. Today he was there again and there were 6 new dogs caught along with 2 puppies.

We are very thankful to him for taking the extra time to help us capture some photos of the new catch after the cleaning and feeding. He is really a great guy that walk the talk. *salute*

Please continue to help SHARE out this album and help us save as many furkids as possible.

Time is running out and every minute counts!

05.10.13 – My 2nd Trip to MPSP Dog Pound:
Though it’s a dreadful feeling going to the pound, I find myself having the urge to go back again.

I had a friend with me this round and am glad to meet up with 2 other freelance volunteers who frequented the pound to help with feeding and cleaning.

While the 3 ladies were working hard cleaning the place and doing some feeding, I spent some time photographing the furkids. I do hope that the photos I took will encouraged more people to come forward to adopt these pound dogs. Even if not many can adopt, at least they can help by sharing out the photos to their friends, families and relatives. Some how, I feel the work will paid off with a few lives saved.

We do sincerely appeal to the Public to help us save these pound dogs by opting to adopt instead of buying a pet. These pound dogs are equally beautiful and will make great pets as well.

We are also facing shortages of volunteers to help out at the pound. With less than a handful of people helping, it’s near impossible to keep the area clean and thus with the ongoing hygienic problem, it is not surprising that the dogs/puppies can get sick easily.

If you wish to volunteer to help the pound dogs, you may get in touch with us via PM. We look forward to have you on board BUT bear in mind that this is no easy task and you have to be prepared for the challenges ahead.

15.10.13 – My 3rd Trip to MPSP Dog Pound
By now, I am pretty much gotten over the fear of facing the pound dogs.

Traveled to the pound today, intending to take some photos of the dogs to be put up for adoption online, feed them and do some cleaning.

It was about 1pm+ when I reached MPSP Dog Pound. Get started with work immediately and it took me about an hour plus to get my photography session done. After that, time for feeding and cleaning. One of the worker came over to help out when he saw me cleaning alone. He told me that their staff do clean and feed; but since I am there, might as well fill-up their food and water bowls.

With an additional pair of hands, work seems to get done quicker. It was about 3pm+ by the time we are almost done and it’s time for me to head back to the Island.

Please continue to help us SHARE this album…

1 SHARE = 1 HOPE

27.10.13 – My 4th Trip to MPSP Dog Pound
Many of the dogs I have seen previously had gone. In my heart, I still carry the hope that, if not all, some of them managed to escape death.

There were many new catch in the pound, some were still locked inside the lorry, yet to be unloaded and God knows how long they still need to cramp in there. And to unload them, does that mean some of the old dogs need to go in order to make space? I pray not…

Please help us to continue SHARE OUT. Encourage the people around you to opt for adoption. We know that we can’t save ALL, but we will try to save as many as we can.

03.11.13 – My 5th Trip to MPSP Dog Pound
I heard that a mama dog and her puppies were caught back to the pound the day before and so I made a trip there just to check them out. Mama dog and her puppies look healthy and active as at when I saw her, which was a relieved.

There are plenty of dogs there with skin problem but am sure once they are cure, they will look just as beautiful. If anyone is willing to take them in, we are willing to bear the medical bills to cure them from their skin problem (terms and conditions applied – just email us for more details at mddb.mccp@gmail.com or drop us a PM).

And as we have mention before, any female dogs adopted from MPSP Pound, we shall bear the full spaying cost, and of course, with terms and conditions applied (just email us for more details at mddb.mccp@gmail.com or drop us a PM).

Please help us to continue SHARE OUT. Encourage the people around you to opt for adoption. We know that we can’t save ALL, but we will try to save as many as we can.

12.01.14 – My 7th Trip to MPSP Dog
New photos are added to the album and these dogs are currently waiting at the pound, hoping that someone will show up soon to bring them home…Please help us SHARE OUT the album and at the same time, encourage your friends and family to opt for adoption. Pound dogs can make great pets, too.

There is also a shortage of volunteers to help with cleaning and feeding of the dogs at the pound. Mdm. Tan from SPCA – SEBERANG PERAI and 2 other volunteers, Mr. S.S. Lee and Mimi Chan are currently taking turns to go feed and clean at the pound.

Anyone who wish to lend a helping hand, please do PM us. Food will be supplied by SPCA Seberang Perai.

The number of dogs here is devastating!

Please…please…if you have a heart for animals, help us. We need volunteers, we need adopters and we need fosterers to help us save as many as possible.

1 CARE, 1 SHARE!

22.02.14 – My 10th Trip to MPSP Dog
Spotted a few nice dogs at the pound that indeed after some basic grooming, they are surely to turn into beautiful pets.

Do give it a thought in adopting a pound dog, if you are looking for pet to adopt. They make great companions, just like any other pure breeds. And in addition, they come with one advantage, they are….”Streets Smart”!
