Overburdened shelters take in millions of strayed, abused, injured and lost animals every year. By adopting a dog, not only are you giving making rooms for others, but you’re giving more dogs a second chance.

Each year, its estimated that more than 1 million of adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized due to lack of space and resources, simply because too many pets come into shelters and too few ppl consider adoption when looking for a pet. By adopting, you can help to break the cycle of pet overpopulation.

It’s important to know that if you buy a dog from pet store, online seller or even flea market, you’re almost certainly getting a dog from a puppy mill. Puppy mill are factory-style breeding facilities that put profit above the welfare of dogs. Animals from there are housed in shockingly poor conditions with improper medical care and unsanitary condition. In order to maximize profits, female dogs are bred at every opportunity with little-to-no recovery time between litters.

Also, adoption cost much lesser than buying a dog that is sold for profit. In SCAS, we don’t charge for adoption fees. If you adopt a neutered dog, a RM200 is requested to be reimbursed to our shelter for the neutering fees. If an unneutered dog is adopted, RM200 refundable deposit will be collected by us. Once neuter surgery is done, the deposit will be refunded to the adopter. This is to ensure that all dogs are neutered. In a long run, neutering not only improves your dog’s health but also reduces the number of strays.

Adopt, dont shop. You’ll change a homeless animal’s whole world.

Second Chance

Second Chance is a group of like-minded animal lovers who met through the Internet when they read of Aunty Kiew's plight.

They do their very best to render help whenever time permits and within their limited capacities. They hope to find good homes for as many homeless animals as possible. Currently, there are 100+ animals rescued and fostered by this group.
