WWF-Malaysia’s Education for Sustainable Development Programme (ESD) team recently supported its Eco Champions of 2024 – Team Snouts and Stripes of INTI International College Subang – for their event entitled ‘The Forgotten Stripes: Tapir Launch and Exhibition’.

The exhibition, which centred on Malayan tapir conservation, was initiated to raise awareness about the plight and threats faced by the Malayan tapir, an Endangered species listed on the IUCN Red List and protected under Malaysia’s Wildlife Conservation Act 2010.

Malaysia’s Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Yang Berhormat Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad attended and officiated the event.

After his opening speech, YB Nik Nazmi dropped by WWF-Malaysia’s booth for a photo with the ESD team and left a message to commemorate the great effort which WWF-Malaysia is working on to protect the country’s natural environment through various conservation programmes.

Also present were Perhilitan Director-general Datuk Abdul Kadir Abu Hashim, Selangor Perhilitan Director Wan Mohd Adib, and INTI International University and Colleges Chief Executive Officer Dr Chong Kok Wai.

WWF-Malaysia congratulates and thanks Team Snouts and Stripes and their lecturer Ms Uma Muthusamy for inspiring youth support of nature conservation.
