HAPPY TAILS: AHSOKA

Once the star of our shelter tours, Ahsoka charmed everyone with her affectionate nature, perching on shoulders and nuzzling everyone who visited her. But despite stealing hearts, her severe ulcers and medical needs kept her from finding a home. Often overlooked by potential adopters, Ahsoka waited – until Ingrid, an ex-SPCA staff member and now a lead volunteer, couldn’t bear to see her in pain any longer. Ingrid took her home, and their journey began.

“When we adopted Ahsoka in May, she was in heartbreaking condition: severe ulcers in her mouth and throat, and her upper lip lost to relentless inflammation. With patience, love, numerous medical checks, medication, and a special diet, she has completely transformed. Today, Ahsoka is thriving – ulcer-free, off medication, and living life to the fullest. She is playful, waking us up every morning with her adorable demands for cuddles before we are even allowed to get out of bed, and has become the Queen of our home with her loving, charismatic personality. About 1.5 months ago, Ahsoka gained a little sister, Qi’ra (also adopted), and their growing bond has been a joy to witness.

We adore our girls and can’t stress enough how important it is, when adopting a cat, to look beyond appearances. Their character and spirit are what truly matter!”
