In 2020, staff of the Jabatan Agama Islam in Gombak sought help after a dog they were feeding was caught by the local council. Apparently the doggo had been living in the department’s compound since it was a puppy. A feeder managed to bail the doggo and send him to the vet. Once neutered and vaccinated, he was sent over to us. We need him Salman. Initially Salman was sad and scared but he has bloomed into one of our shelter’s resident junks.

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better is a canine welfare programme initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII).

MDDB's main activities revolve around rescuing dogs from the local council pounds as well as off the streets. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption.
