Last Week We Introduced You To Klarharn. This Week..

Last week we introduced you to Klarharn. 📅THIS WEEK Klarharn continues on his healing journey🧡🐾

We asked Dr. Kate, Soi Dog Foundation’s Dog Hospital Veterinary Manager, about his treatment path. Physiotherapy is a major component of Klarharn’s healing journey and he is currently receiving laser therapy,

Q: What are the benefits of laser therapy? 🧑🏻‍🔬

A: Laser therapy is useful for managing pain, reducing inflammation, and improving the healing of tendons and ligaments in soft tissue injuries. In this case, we are using it for pain control, and we plan to start [Klarharn] on water treadmill exercises in the next few weeks.

Q: How long will he receive treatment? ❤️‍🩹

A: We will wait until the right hindlimb is stable enough for weight-bearing and muscle mass has built up before considering another surgery on the left hip. During this period, physiotherapy might take another 1-2 months.

Q: Regarding Pemphigus Foliaceus, how is that being treated? 🩹

A: Pemphigus Foliaceus is the most common autoimmune skin disease affecting dogs. In this case, we are using immunosuppressive therapy such as oral glucocorticoids (prednisolone) along with medicated shampoo showers, and [Klarharn] is responding well.

You can see the difference that treatment makes for a dog like Klarharn in the photos. He is growing stronger every day and with your support, Klarharn and other animals in need can reach for recovery and find their second chance🩺💫.
