Thanks to the job very well done by NParks and ICA, this syndicate’s smuggling efforts were busted. Smuggling animals in such conditions [see pic in the article] often results in injuries, heightened stress and mortalities as high as 70-80%. Leow Seng Lee, who has been in the pet shop business for more than 40 years, worked with a middleman who hired a Malaysian truck driver to smuggle birds across the border.
