#Throwback to an amazing first day of Earth Week at the BSKL yesterday! 🎉

We gave a talk on how the overconsumption of plastics in our everyday activities is negatively affecting marine life, including sea turtles ad sea birds! We talked about making ecobricks and fashioning them into step-stools and even tables and chairs!

We brought in former interns to share about their experiences doing hands-on turtle conservation activities and we showcased our turtle specimens and told stories of our Terrapin Guardians who are working hard to help save our freshwater turtles 🐢

Earth Day is celebrated on the 22nd April every year to promote environmental protection and climate action. The global theme for Earth Day this year is Planet vs. Plastics.

Turtle Conservation Society

The Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia was established in October 2011. The aim of the society is to bring about the recovery of depleted wild populations of turtles, with particular reference to freshwater turtles, in Malaysia through partnerships with like-minded organizations, individuals and local communities as well as through its own programs.
