Good news! South Korea’s parliament passed a bill banning dog breeding and slaughter for consumption, ending the controversial practice of eating dog meat. The bill imposes penalties for slaughtering dogs for food, breeding dogs and knowingly acquiring, transporting, storing, or selling dog-made food. Farm owners and workers in the dog trade will also have a three-year grace period to close or change businesses.
