‼️Animal cruelty content is on the rise online. Here’s how you can help.‼️
Every day, we are contacted by concerned supporters who have encountered fake rescue videos on social media that deliberately exploit animals for views and profit.
While these videos are distressing and it’s understandable to feel helpless, there is action you can take.
Please watch the following video by Asia for Animals’ Social Media Animal Cruelty Coalition (SMACC) about how to spot a fake rescue video and follow these steps:
❌ Do NOT engage with the video in any way (do not share, comment or react).
✔️ DO report the video to the social media platform in question.
✔️ DO report the video to SMACC here: https://www.smaccoalition.com/report-a-concern
In addition to its reporting feature, the SMACC website is full of useful resources, tips and success stories to inspire and empower animal lovers like you.
Thank you for standing up for animals in need. When it comes to tackling animal cruelty online, we all have a part to play.
