The Country's National Policy On Biological Divers..

The country’s National Policy on Biological Diversity is under review. Malaysia conducted a mid-term review of the Malaysian National Policy on Biological Diversity (NPBD) 2015-2025, and following the adoption of the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) in December 2022, the NPBD has been revised to align with the GBF. The new strategy was launched on 24 October 2023 to meet the global biodiversity targets for 2030.

This is a pivotal moment for Malaysia’s commitment to preserving its natural heritage and its role in the global effort to safeguard biodiversity. In this interview, we discussed Malaysia’s incredibly rich biodiversity and its significance within the evolving policy landscape of Malaysia, while also looking at the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in terms of protecting the biodiversity of our planet with Lakshmi Lavanya Rama Iyer, WWF-Malaysia Director of Policy and Climate Change.
