Today is World Population Day 🌎
At the very forefront of our work at Soi Dog is a desire and determination to reduce the population of homeless dogs and cats in Asia. While we love puppies, dogs, kittens and cats, we don’t love the suffering that comes with their overbreeding on the streets.
We are so fortunate that you share our desire, and together with the determination of our 14 mobile teams and partner projects across Thailand and beyond, we have now neutered and vaccinated more than 950,000 homeless animals since 2003 through our large-scale CNVR programme, the largest of its kind in the world.
CNVR (Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return) gets to the root of overpopulation both humanely and effectively. And we can be sure of its effectiveness thanks to our annual impact assessment in Greater Bangkok which shows a steady decline in the population of dogs and an increase in their overall health and welfare.
However, with the total population of street dogs in Thailand sitting at an estimated 10-12 million, there’s still plenty more for us to do.
To support our CNVR programme and help us reach the milestone of a million animals neutered and vaccinated by end of the year, please click here: https://links.soidog.org/world-population-day
