(English caption below) Selesai sudah Kursus Peningkatan Kemahiran Pemuliharaan Tuntung Sungai baru-baru ini 🎉

Seramai 14 orang Geng Tuntung terlibat sama dalam kursus ini yang dijalankan di Pusat Konservasi Tuntung selepas solat Isyak, memandangkan kebanyakan ahli Geng Tuntung mempunyai kerja hakiki pada siang hari.

Geng Tuntung mempelajari teknik memasukkan mikrocip ke dalam kaki tuntung. Lebih mencabar, anak-anak tuntung ini hanya berumur 2-3 tahun dan masih kecil, berbanding dengan tuntung betina yang mendarat untuk bertelur.

We’ve successfully hosted a capacity building training for our Terrapin Guardians recently 🏆

A total of 14 Terrapin Guardians participated in the training, which was held at the River Terrapin Conservation Centre after Isyak prayers because most of them have day jobs that they needed to attend to.

Our Terrapin Guardians learned to insert a microchip into the inguinal pocket of the terrapins. It was challenging because the terrapins were only 2-3 years old, hence they were much smaller than the females that they’ve encountered on the nesting banks.

Turtle Conservation Society

The Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia was established in October 2011. The aim of the society is to bring about the recovery of depleted wild populations of turtles, with particular reference to freshwater turtles, in Malaysia through partnerships with like-minded organizations, individuals and local communities as well as through its own programs.
