Join our online webinar titled “ALIGNING URBAN CLIMATE ACTIONS TO 1.5°C PATHWAY : A Discussion of Best Practices and Lessons Learned from the One Planet City Challenge (OPCC) Southeast Asian Cities”.
The OPCC is a biennial global challenge by WWF under its flagship One Planet Cities (OPC) program that recognizes cities for their climate actions and ambitions, and assess whether they align with the goals outlined in the Paris Agreement in limiting climate change to 1.5 °C.
The challenge results showed that many cities are already taking the lead in sustainability through various innovative climate solutions. To scale up these initiatives, a peer knowledge exchange is an excellent tool that can promote mutual learning and build connections among experts and practitioners in the local governments.
This virtual peer knowledge exchange aims to provide a platform for OPCC 2021-2022 participating cities in Southeast Asia to exchange best practices and lessons learned in aligning their climate strategies and commitments to the 1.5°C pathway. The workshop would serve as a venue for the cities to:
1. SHARE insights on their journey in joining the OPCC,
2. REFLECT on their respective processes to discuss respective strengths and weaknesses, and
3. Draw city-specific NEXT STEPS to strengthen formulation and implementation of actions on mitigating carbon emissions.
