We’ve lost count of how many soi dogs have been placed with foster families who go on to adopt them! ❤
One of them is Tripod here. She came to us from the island of Samui after being hit by a car. One of our mobile clinic teams was based there at the time, and they were alerted to her situation. Sadly, this poor girl had no one looking after her, meaning she didn’t receive the immediate help she needed. By the time she was brought to our team, her leg had already become so badly infected that it had to be amputated.
After the amputation, the aptly named Tripod was transferred to our shelter in Phuket where she went on to make a full recovery. In the very same year, she flew to Canada after being chosen by our amazing partner rescue BARCS. Team member Amanda fostered her and soon realised that she couldn’t imagine life without this friendly, feisty, three-legged young lady.
Amanda decided to adopt Tripod and make her a permanent part of her family and pack. Now named Eileen, she’s thoroughly enjoying her new life. Here’s an update and some photos to prove it:
“We have discovered that Eileen loves the water and enjoys running around in the river. She is loving the green grass that we now have and spends hours just hanging out outside! She loves to snuggle in bed with us and with her brothers, Jo and Jack. She also re-arranges our shoes when we aren’t home haha! I have been taking her to work with me at our new facility and she loves being a working gal, she’s the best greeter there. Everyone who meets her simply adores her and we couldn’t have asked for a better dog to add to our family.”
To start your own #furrytailending with a soi dog like Tripod, please visit https://www.soidog.org/adopt-a-dog. While we are now unable to adopt to Canada on account of the CFIA import ban, we are able to adopt to the USA, Europe and within Thailand.
