HAPPY TALES: ALIBI

Hello! My name is Alibi, and I am a senior doggo! My hooman first came to the SPCA when she was ready to open her heart and home to a fur-pal. While I was eager to show myself off to her, I knew I had to keep calm and cool (she thought I looked intimidating!). As the SPCA dog mentors facilitated interactions between us over the next few weeks, my sweet side started showing… and I think that’s what captivated her! ૮ ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ა The mentors walked us step-by-step through the whole training process, and we both believe it is the reason for our successful #foreverhome together!

When I first went home, I was so a little distrusting of everything “luxurious”. What is a bed? Why is it so soft? For me? REALLY? I finally learnt that it was all mine soon enough. I’ve been blessed with a hooman who loves me so much that we go on 3-4 hours walks, while I really enjoy sniff-snorfing new things, I just really love spending time with her.

Hooman is always saying that ever since I became a part of her life, she has learnt to be more mindful, loving and selfless. She claims that I have given her a greater sense of purpose beyond herself. What she doesn’t know is that protecting her is my single most important duty in life! I love you hooman. While my lifespan is shorter than yours, thank you for giving the chance to experience a home and a family. You have given me such happy senior years.
