From the clutches of smugglers in Thailand into the loving arms of families around the world, this is the journey of our meat trade survivors 🐶💪
Prior to 2014, hundreds of thousands of companion animals fell victim to the meat trade in Thailand. But with your support, Soi Dog took on the butchers and smugglers in a three-year fight that resulted in the trade being completely eradicated and the country’s first animal welfare law introduced.
In the process of fighting the trade, thousands of dogs were rescued, and close to 800 were rehabilitated and rehomed worldwide. Once destined for a slow death for a quick meal, many of these lucky dogs are still alive and very much loved to this day.
It wasn’t a short journey for these dogs, nor was it a simple one, but it was wholly worth it. Thank you for your committed support then and your continued support now in our ongoing fight across the region.
