700 Dogs Urgent Food Crisis. A Massive Pack Of 700..

A massive pack of 700 dogs and 60 cats, some of which were saved from Ukraine recently, are at risk of going without food because their normal food supply has been shut down as a result of a Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) temporary ban on the import of rescue dogs over rabies fears and limited quarantine space.
“We reached 700 rescued dogs by continuously trying to rescue as many as we could over the years because the stray situațion în România is dire,” said Ioana Leca who has been running L. A. C Farm Rescue animal shelter in România for 8 years now. “There are abandoned dogs and cats on every single street and dogs being killed inhumanely in every public shelter here daily.”
“Until recently when the United Kingdom placed the import ban on animals, we could provide for ourselves well enough because we owned an animal transport company which generated enough funds to pay for the shelter expenses, workers, food, veterinary care and improvements of living conditions,” Ioana said explaining how her family business had been paying for the costs of the rescue program for many years. “Now, with the ban, there is no transport so there is NO income for us to be able to care for our animals which îs tragic and very, very scary. It is heart breaking to see these innocent animals depend on us and us knowing we just can’t provide for them anymore. There’s no soluțion for them if people don’t open their hearts and try to help us as much as they can afford right now. We can’t give them up to kill shelters because we worked so hard and dedicated our lives to save theirs, so that îs not an option.”
The Harmony Fund is a small charity devoted to helping underdog rescuers like Ioana. We are currently getting daily SOS calls from all over the world, from shelters facing a food crisis. Our supporters are preventing HUNGER on a massive scale. We need your help providing food for thousands upon thousands of animals facing food shortages. It is our greatest hope that we can help these dogs and cats in Romania. The cost to feed each dog monthly is $6.33. For the entire pack, the costs reach $4432.
