One of the puppies that will be up for adoption tomorrow at MDDB’s drive.
AFTER a long hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, canine welfare project Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) will be holding an adoption drive tomorrow.
MDDB adoption coordinator Christine Lai said the hiatus had resulted in the organisation having a stable of young dogs with no homes to go to.
“In spite of the movement restrictions and lockdown, MDDB had continued to pick up puppies from the streets throughout the entire period.”
She said some puppies were sent to them by feeders from various locations around the city.

The adoption drive will be held at Atrium, The Square, Level G (in front of Three Stooges Bistro), Jaya One in Petaling Jaya from 11am to 6pm.
However, Lai said the puppies rescued during the MCO were now young dogs and would not be the ones put up for adoption.
“The puppies up for adoption are several two- and three-month-old ones that have been rescued from the streets by members of the public,’’ she said.
She assured that most of the puppies had received their first vaccinations.
“All our MCO puppies are young dogs now and are awaiting neutering. They will only be put up for adoption after this has been done,” she elaborated.
MDDB will also be raising funds to settle the outstanding bills from its chicken supplier.
“We feed our dogs chicken breast as well as ground neck and liver.
“Thankfully our supplier Ayam Maju Enterprise, which is a stall in the Section 17 wet market, has been providing chicken to us on credit,” said Lai.
She added that a fairly large supply of chicken was needed daily to feed the nearly 260 dogs in MDDB’s care.
