Wwf-Malaysia Restores Degraded Land In Ulu Sungai ..
Tweet | ![]() |
WWF-Malaysia restores degraded land in Ulu Sungai Menyang, Sarawak with gaharu because:
◾️The species Aquilaria microcarpa is native to Sarawak.
◾️The trees reforest degraded land.
◾️The leaves produce high-grade organic tea which generates supplementary income for the community.
◾️Income from gaharu tea takes pressure off the conversion of orang-utan habitat for other large-scale agriculture.
◾️Community and orang-utans continue to coexist in harmony.
This project is supported by the International Climate Initiative of the German Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
