11-Year-Old Hangbuam Was Rescued From A Local Gove..

11-year-old Hangbuam was rescued from a local government dog pound by our community outreach team last year. They noticed her eyes were bulging, so they brought her to Soi Dog where she was diagnosed with glaucoma and cataracts in her left eye and blindness in her right. Unfortunately, she didn’t respond to treatment to reduce the pressure in her eyes and so they eventually had to be removed.

Less than a year later, Hangbuam (now Hannah) was lucky enough to find her forever home🏠 In March, she fell into the arms of her adopter, a kind retired lady in Connecticut, USA, and it seems it didn’t take her long to settle in as we received this #furrytailending update just a month after her arrival:

“Hannah spends good weather days outdoors where she delights in poking her nose in the fresh earth and the fragrant newly emerging green grasses. We go on longer daily walks too, just her and I. There was one morning that Connecticut had a surprise snow squall that left an inch or two of wet slush on the grass; Hannah’s first trip outside that morning was a total new experience for her, when she made a first step outdoors, her paw splashed down into an inch of wet snow, and she was like “uh, no!! Not doing this!” She turned and headed back inside, but we did manage some outdoor time that day!

Every time when I’m preparing food, I must be careful, because she is a bit of a counter surfer! She sleeps in her own bed in the kitchen and I have been introducing her a bit at time to the rest of the house. Once she can navigate safely she will sleep in the living or bedroom as she chooses.

Hannah is amazingly calm and laid back; she enjoys her walks with all the new sights sounds smells, and likes to explore every inch of ground we cover and she loves to lie down on the cool concrete floor in the patio out of the wind and strong sun. She spends an hour or so there 3 to 4 times a day.

Hannah has a healthy appetite and sleeps soundly through the night on her raised bed with blankets under her. She loves to chew mats, small rugs and toys, gives lots of kisses, does play-bows and likes to stand beside when I am cooking or washing dishes.

Hannah is just a joy and delight and we have made that special bond and she is a great company for me and the other pup. We are a team!”

What a wonderful #furrytailending story! Our thanks go to Hangbuam’s amazing adopter who gave this senior, special needs girl the opportunity to live her very best life. Hangbuam can now explore the world without fear, safe in the knowledge that there’s someone who loves her and will always be there for her🧡
