Sookie made the long journey from a government pound in the northeast of Thailand to our shelter in the south in May 2018. She was transferred to us for treatment for glaucoma in both of her eyes. Left untreated, the condition had caused irreversible damage and left her in a world of pain. Removing her eyes was the only option.

Over time, Sookie has adapted to life without vision and become a master of her other senses. She amazes us with the mental map she’s built of the shelter and how she tilts her head in curiosity when someone calls her name!

Understandably, Sookie can be easily frightened by certain noises, so she will need someone caring and patient to guide her through her worries as she explores her new environment. We promise this sweet girl will be worth the effort.
