Sharing Their Stories, Knowing The Difficulties Th..

Sharing their stories, knowing the difficulties they face, we hope we have inspired you to look at cats with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) with much more love and understanding than ever before. #FIVAwarenessMonth

FIV cats are everywhere. In general all colonies of cats all over the world are likely to have a percentage of FIV positive cats of anywhere between 2-5% or even high as 15% depending on many factors.

Whilst, FIV is not a death sentence for an infected cat, due to lack of knowledge and misunderstandings about what it means to own an FIV cat, rescue shelters find it difficult to find homes for these amazing moggies.

Which sadly means that it is likely most rescues will have to euthanise FIV cats on arrival due to lack of long-term space. 😿

We believe this should never be the case because majority of these kitties can live as long as non-FIV positive cats with proactive health care.

They are also perfect as indoor cats and their chances of survival only increase in a home filled with love.🥰

Therefore, please don’t overlook adopting an FIV cat, if you are in a position to adopt one.

If you cannot adopt, there are many other ways you can help .

If you’d like to help with the care of special kitties like those with FIV here at Soi Dog Foundation, please consider donating or even sponsoring a long term kitty in our care which will help all the cats in need of help.

Spread the love for FIV cats.
