Ponni’s story.

Ponni is a mother dog. She gave birth to 8 puppies in a Tamil school at Rantau, Negeri Sembilan a few years ago. The teachers there were feeding her. Unfortunately, one of the students went and disturbrd her puppies and she chased him away. The boy fell and injured himself and the parents reported the school to the state Education Department. The teachers had no choice other than relocating her and her pupies at the nearby graveyard. An MDDB volunteer went to rescue the family at the graveyard ann found the pups but not Ponni. Soon after Ponni, came back with a whole chicken in her mouth to feed her pups. She had killed a chicken in the graveyard to feed the pupies. She was rescued and with her pups and brought to the MDDB half-way-home. All her pupies have sonce been adopted.

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better is a canine welfare programme initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII).

MDDB's main activities revolve around rescuing dogs from the local council pounds as well as off the streets. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption.
