‘Shilo Santana Kelly’ was licking her hindpaw persistently and it was swollen. She’d had pain relief and it still hadn’t resolved and she was too tender to allow me to thoroughly assess her paw. She was admitted next day for sedation and we pulled out a thorn from her sore paw. I was born overseas and grew up in Lebanon. About 9 years ago, I left my family and friends behind to pursue my dream of becoming a veterinarian in Australia.
