They don’t get sweeter than me!

I recently caught a glimpse of my medical notes, and guess what they said? “Elian is the sweetest dog.” Wow! Lots of people have told me this before, but it’s good to have a professional opinion! https://links.soidog.org/adopt-elian-soidog-shelterdog

The notes also described the medical issues I had when I came to Soi Dog. There were lots of long, technical words, but the short story is that I had a painful, maggot-filled wound on my front left paw that made it difficult to walk. You could see the bones, and some of my claws were missing.

The vets had to amputate two of my digits, but I’m just grateful that they were able to save the rest of my paw. Fortunately, the amputation doesn’t affect how I walk or run. I pad around my enclosure just fine, walk well on a lead and happily chase tennis ball after tennis ball.

Since arriving at the shelter, my muzzle has grown more grey and distinguished, but don’t let that fool you into making any assumptions about my age. In reality, I have the enthusiasm of a dog much younger than my years. You’ll know what I mean when I bound over to say hello to you and then leap into your lap for a cuddle.
