Foster Stories Baby Girl, Fostered By Spca Staff E..

FOSTER STORIES: Baby Girl, fostered by SPCA Staff (Ee Rong)

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

SPCA’s education officer, Ee Rong, shares her struggles and joys of being a foster mum to Baby Girl while working from home.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Baby Girl is a community cat we found with what started as a small wound on her cheek. Our clinic began treatment but the wound still grew bigger and much nastier. The infection also spread, eventually affecting her nose.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Results from her biopsy revealed she had a fungal infection, most likely cypotococcus. Treatment needed to be very aggressive. She needs to be on five types of medication and multiple supplements to support her recovery for at least 5 – 9 months.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Currently, 1.5 months into therapy, she is showing signs of steady improvement, thanks to her loving fosterer, Ee Rong, who administers medication and cleans her wound daily. “Seeing her go through this makes me feel helpless as I can’t do anything more to help alleviate the pain,” Ee Rong shares.

Regular vet examinations and blood tests are required to monitor the treatment. If you would like to support the recovery of Baby Girl and other rescued animals, visit bit.ly/GIVINGSPCA. Every dollar makes a difference.

Baby Girl has not given up and neither will we! 💙
