Our Animal Rescue Officer Working The Night Shift,..

Our animal rescue officer working the night shift, responded to a call last week regarding a community cat after its regular caregiver noticed something off about him.
When our officers arrived on the scene, they found the 8-year-old hiding beneath a car. The cat was noticeably frail, sickly and had a wound on his face. It took our officer some coaxing to put the cat at ease before he took hold of the feline. The cat was then rushed to a private vet clinic and was brought back to SPCA for follow-up treatment.
However, the cat’s condition was too severe and he passed on. This is the sad reality of working as a rescue officer. As hard as they try, not all rescues will turn out to be happy endings. Nevertheless, our officers continue to put in their best effort so long as there is hope of the animal’s life being saved.
