Dog Of The Week Hello There. My Name Is Gettah, An..

🌟Dog of the Week🌟 Hello there. My name is Gettah, and I’m coming to you from Oregon, USA. You’re probably wondering how I got here all the way from Phuket, Thailand. https://links.soidog.org/Enquire-about-Gettah

I was brought to Soi Dog in February 2018 after I was found on the streets with severe eye problems. I couldn’t see and was in terrible pain. The vets decided it was best to remove my eyes to relieve me from the discomfort I was feeling. As you can imagine, adjusting to life without my vision wasn’t easy. The other dogs in my run didn’t understand that I couldn’t read their body language which made interacting really difficult.

Fortunately, Soi Dog’s Behaviour and Enrichment Team were on hand to help me build my confidence. A lady called Heart used to take me for walks every day once all the other dogs had settled down and the shelter was nice and calm. I’d wait patiently at the door of my run for her, and the minute I heard her voice, my whole body would wag!

This is a shining example of how I build relationships with people. It takes time, but once I feel I can trust them, I love them wholeheartedly. It’s true when they say that blind dogs see with their hearts. In July 2019, I found my home in the USA. But unfortunately, after many months of training from my loving family, I’m still afraid of their other dog, so I’m looking for a home again. https://links.soidog.org/Enquire-about-Gettah

Ideally, I need to be the only dog in your home. I’m a sensitive soul, and it’s much less stressful for me when I don’t have to worry about getting in the way of any other canine companions. If you do have a dog, I’d need a lengthy meet and greet with them first to see if we’re compatible (by which I mean see how they react when I inevitably bump into them!)

The only other thing I ask for is lots of walkies. As you can see, I’m an outdoorsy boy – a real go-Gettah! – who loves to explore, sniffing flowers and meeting new humans as I go. My current family say I’ve managed to charm the whole neighbourhood here.

Please consider offering me a place where I can truly settle down. https://links.soidog.org/Enquire-about-Gettah
