Bushfire Emergency

Australia is in the grips of the most catastrophic bushfires the country has ever witnessed. So far, more than 8.4 million hectares of Australian land has been burned. That’s more than the Amazon and Californian fires combined. And it’s not over yet.

It’s been estimated that half a billion animals have been killed just in New South Wales. This includes thousands of koalas and other iconic species such as kangaroos, wallabies, kookaburras, cockatoos and honeyeaters burnt alive, and many thousands more injured and homeless.
