When we first laid eyes on this poor boy, his appearance was heart-breaking. We had no way of knowing what happened to him, only that he was found in the street with shocking injuries. He arrived at Soi Dog after we received a call from a gas station on the island.

One of the employees had arrived for work that morning and found Truman lying in the street nearby. He had a shocking injury to one of his eyes and cuts all over his face, neck, and on one of his feet. Little Truman was in a world of pain and was so scared.

Truman may have been attacked by a street dog, or hit by a motorbike, or possibly even attacked by a human – we just don’t know. But thanks to the members of our Care for Cats Club, we were able to send an Animal Rescue Officer to pick him up and deliver him straight into the arms of a waiting veterinarian. He is only alive today thanks to the support of people like you.

Sadly, the injuries to Truman’s left eye were so severe that the vets had no choice but to remove it in order to end his terrible suffering. And in the weeks that followed, Truman noticeably turned a corner. He continued to eat well and got his fighting spirit back. He has now made a wonderful recovery.

Sadly, as you read Truman’s story, another suffering cat needs you. The Care for Cats Club is a very special group of cat lovers whose donations fund the rescue and life-saving medical treatment of sick, injured, abused or abandoned cats. In addition, they fund spaying and neutering, so that fewer cats like Truman are born into a life of misery on the streets.
