1,110 Rescued Dogs Counting Of Us For Food. ______..

WHAT MAN WITH 600+ FREE-RUNNING DOGS WANTS YOU TO KNOW….

Every month, we scratch and claw our way to find enough funds to feed a total of 1,100 dogs in Serbian rescue havens. The biggest of those sanctuaries is run by Sasha Pesic who designed his rescue center to allow the spayed & neutered dogs to run and play, cage-free, all day long. Sasha has a special message for you today.

“I would like to thank you for paying for our daily meals and needs,” Sasha writes to our supporters. “Without your sustained commitment (for 5 years) it would have been unthinkable to foresee a daily roof, food, and protection for the hundreds of voiceless furry friends now under our care.”

“While our initiative started with a few dogs, the inflow of hungry and often injured dogs was soon too hard to manage,” Sasha said. “We will never forget how you came to the rescue in those dark days. With funds to buy the kibble, basic medicine, veterinarian help, etc… Only thanks to you over 1,000 dogs in the last several years have experienced daily care, food and affection. More than 300 of those dogs (and counting) have been adopted by new loving families. Without your help our only option would have been to put the dogs back on the streets, with the high risk of starvation, freezing, accidents and even abuse.”

Although we don’t wish to sour the beauty of this message, quite honestly, we are in a bit of trouble. March and April are always our worst months of the year. Donations trickle in well below the norm, perhaps because of income tax season. We are going to be hard pressed to come up with enough funds to feed all the dogs when April 1st rolls around. For those of you who are able to donate, we would be deeply grateful for your help. The rescuers in Serbia, and the dogs themselves, have no one else to turn to. They are counting on us.
