Short-Lived Joy (Vincent Refuses To Eat)

It wasn’t a “start” of something…sigh. It was just short-lived joy – that Vincent ate the boiled and steamed chicken.

As soon as the supermarket opened, I went to buy various part of the chicken thinking that’s what he wants to eat. It also dawned on me why he might want to eat bone – could it be because he felt he needed bone marrow to make red blood cells? Maybe animals just know.

I was so excited, and came home armed with chickcn carcass, chicken ribs and keel (he used to like this part as well).

At lunch time, I steamed some for Vincent.

His meds – the Metrogyl and Fortekor (can be pilled), and the syringe of Kaminox (which is a huge struggle as Vincent hates anything which is forced into his mouth). I have to resort of just dabbing the liquid on his lips. It’s supposed to be very palatable, but Vincent hates it. Yet, this liquid contains the nutrients which he very much needs, especially to make blood. I have already reduced it from 1.5ml to 1.0ml.

Lunch time coming, with the steamed chicken, freshly bought.

He refused to eat it anywhere else, so I had to give it to him here, amongst the plants.

But Ginger was a problem as he was always intimidating Vincent.

I had to lock Ginger up.

But no, Vincent didn’t want to eat anymore.

Heidi ate it up.

Tried again later – No.

The “disturber” was asleep.

At dinner time, Vincent came to the kitchen. I was so happy and quickly offered him food. Nothing was right for him.

He sniffed at each time as they were offered, one by one, but he just kept looking.

The staring game – my greatest nightmare.

I finally gave up. I don’t have anymore trump cards.

I have offered all that I could think of and still, none of it was right.

But he had to take his meds, so that was a huge struggle again. Because of the meds, I had to force-feed some AD – Vincent fought, almost violently.

I’ve let him be. No more offers of food for tonight. There is no point in fighting. It’s just too stressful.

So, yes, the steamed chicken was just short-lived joy. And I thought the hormone injection was working…sigh. I really thought it was.

Well, there are some things that we just cannot fix or control, right?

This is life.
