The recent scientific report on 1.5 degrees shows how urgently we need to act to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change.

Wetlands are critical to these efforts. They are the planet’s most effective carbon sinks, particularly #peatlands. And wetlands are nature’s best defence against extreme floods, droughts and storms, which are all expected to increase as the world warms.

Healthy etlands need to be at the heart of our fight to tackle climate change. At this week’s global wetlands meeting, the world must take steps to safeguard the world’s wetlands….
